In this field, the examination focuses on observing samples of body fluids such as blood, urine, joint fluid, bone marrow, and phlegm.

Clinical pathologists have a role to detect and interpret the levels of certain chemicals in the body and their reactions. Experts in this field can determine whether a patient has a disease by observing the levels of minerals, cholesterol, blood sugar, or antibodies.
